My name is Alin Anuar the Lead Planner & Owner of Asian Atelier. We are a social enterprise that promotes preserving culture in weddings and a fair trade business, working with artisans across Asia to create one of a kind bridal attire. On my blog, I will share wedding ideas, tips, events & any promotions in hope that it would give value to you, as you plan for your big day.

At Asian Atelier, we have been trusted to manage many kinds of weddings and my personal favorite would be - intercultural weddings. It is special to me to “marry” two cultures and I have a couple of tips to share.

Intercultural Wedding is a delicate event to organize due to the different religion & cultures. However, even if you and your fiance have two different backgrounds, it's completely possible to create a service that intertwines your individual beliefs and represents you both beautifully.

Here are some important tips to consider:

BECOME YOUR OWN EXPERTS - Take some time to read about each other's religion in books and online. As you research, set aside rituals and tips that appeals to you. Some religions are very tolerant on interfaith unions, while others are much less so.
INVOLVE THE FAMILIES - Since your marriage will ultimately blend two families together, it's a nice idea to sit down with both sets of your parents next. Listen to them about what's important to them, but remember that it's your wedding and what matters to you should come first. It would take a few conversations to settle it all
WEDDING WISDOM - Take the time to explain culturally specific rituals in your program so guests feel in the loop and can appreciate the custom

Incorporating traditions from your heritage is a great way to honor family members and infuse your ceremony with personality

Many of our clients had been requesting for us to come to their home or office for bridal fittings and alterations . I had been looking into the request and really excited to announce that, YES! We can do this now. There will be no additional charge to this service and it is our way of saying THANK YOU for trusting in us.

Effective on 1st February 2019, the Atelier will offer the concierge seamstress service to your office or home. Our services include tailoring, fitting & delivery of bridal and custom attire (office wear included)
